Aislers Set is an American indie - rock band from the San Francisco Bay -Area scene.

Band history

Amy Linton started Aisler's set as a solo project after the end of her previous band Henry's Dress . The first album Terrible Things Happen , released via Slumberland, is more of a solo album than the debut album of a band. Most of the material came from Linton alone and was only recorded by her. Some songs were recorded with Yoshi Nakamoto (drums) and Wyatt Cusick (guitar, track star ). For the second album The Last Match , however, she found a first line-up in the form of bassist Alicia Vanden Heuvel (also Track Star) and keyboardist Jen Cohen ( Skypark ) as well as the two aforementioned. In February 2013 the third and so far last album How I Learned to Write Backwards was released . The band toured with Yo La Tengo and The Shins in the winter of 2003 .

The band was then temporarily put on hold. Occasionally there were a few shows, but the individual band members devoted themselves to other bands. For 2015 re-releases of the old albums, a compilation and some shows have been announced.

style

Like the related Saturday Looks Good to Me , they incorporated influences from noise , the mod sound from The Who or The Action , Motown , folk rock , The Beach Boys and Phil Spector in their songs.
