The Daleks' Master Plan ( English pronunciation: / ðe dɑːleks mɑːsterplæn / dt about. The master plan of the Daleks ) is 21 plotline of the British science fiction - television series Doctor Who . It consists of a total of 12 parts (excluding the prequel Mission To The Unknown ), which were broadcast between November 13, 1965 and January 29, 1966. Thus it is to date the longest Doctor Who episode, one counts the 23 season of the series, The Trial Of A Time Lord (dt. The verdict ), as four individual episodes. Currently only episodes 2, 5 and 10 are in the possession of the BBC , the other 9 are considered lost.

In the year 4000, an alien race called the Daleks plans to conquer the solar system . In doing so, they use weapons that are even able to destroy time itself. Only Doctor Who and his companions can prevent an intergalactic catastrophe. To do this, however, they must risk their lives.

Official BBC publications
The surviving episodes 2, 5 and 10 were released along with a few other orphan episodes on the Lost In Time DVD box . The entire episode is also available as an audio book, with the prequel and a narrative commentary by Peter Purves, who subsequently portrays the companion Steven, and in book form by John Peel.
Unofficial publications
Several large reconstruction teams, including Loose Cannon and Masterplan Productions, reconstructed the episode in a variety of ways and thus made it tangible again.
