The Empty Man is a crime and horror film directed by David Prior and set to hit US theaters on December 4, 2020. The film is based on the graphic novel series The Empty Man by Cullen Bunn , which was published in 2014 by the Boom! Studios was released.

The film is based on the graphic novel series The Empty Man with text by Eisner Award winner Cullen Bunn and drawings by Vanesa R. Del Rey , which were published in 2014 by the Boom! Studios was released.
In early February 2016 it was announced that 20th Century Fox had acquired the film rights to the graphic novel from Boom! Studios secured.
Directed by David Prior , who also adapted the graphic novel. It is his feature film debut.
James Badge Dale took on the role of the ex-cop named James Lasombra in the movie. Robert Aramayo, who plays Garrett, joined in August 2016. At the end of September 2016, the cast of Aaron Poole , who took over the role of Paul in the film, became known.
The shooting took place from summer 2017 in the US state Illinois and in Cape Town in South Africa.
The score was composed by Christopher Young .
A theatrical release in Germany should initially take place on August 6, 2020 and in the United States on the following day. In the course of the COVID-19 pandemic , however, the US start date was postponed to December 4, 2020.
Age rating
In the USA, the film received an R rating from the MPAA , which corresponds to a rating of 17 and over. In Germany, the film was approved by the FSK from the age of 16.
