The English Baroque Soloists chamber orchestra specializes in authentic reproduction in the sense of historical performance practice.

Origin and repertoire

The ensemble, also known as EBS for short , was founded in 1978 by the conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner . The repertoire includes baroque and classical music . From the beginning, the ensemble worked together with the Monteverdi Choir, also founded by Gardiner in 1968, and made numerous recordings.
