The Fabulous Rhinestones

The Fabulous Rhinestones were an R&B oriented rock band formed in 1971 in San Francisco by Kal David (guitar, vocals; ex- Illinois Speed ​​Press ) and Harvey Brooks (bass; ex- Electric Flag ).

After the formation, the band moved to Woodstock (New York) , at that time a meeting point for musicians like Bob Dylan , Paul Butterfield and many others. The Fabulous Rhinestones played with friendly bands and musicians like The Band and Paul Butterfield. Eventually they got a contract with Michael Lang , one of the organizers of the Woodstock Festival .

In the next few years the Fabulous Rhinestones released three albums, which despite good reviews did not achieve commercial success. They performed with some of the greats on the music scene at the time, including the Allman Brothers , Stevie Wonder , the Doobie Brothers and John Lennon .

In the mid-1970s, the Fabulous Rhinestones disintegrated.
