The wonderful world of Sachiko Hanai ( Japanese 発 情 家庭 教師 先生 の 愛 汁 , Hatsujō katei kyōshi: Sensei no aijiru , dt. "Sex drive private teacher: teacher's love juice"), also known under the international title The Glamorous Life of Sachiko Hanai , is a Japanese fictional film from 2003. The film, which works with stylistic devices from Pinkmovie , was directed by Mitsuru Meikes and based on a script by Takao Nakanos . The satire combines criticism of US foreign policy and other socially critical content with pornographic elements.

action

The prostitute Sachiko Hanai works for an Imekura , a sex role play club. While waiting for a colleague in a bar, she witnessed a secret meeting at which a copy of the finger of US President George W. Bush was to be exchanged. One of the two business partners shoots the other because of a misunderstanding. In the ensuing chaos, the finger ends up in Sachiko's handbag and the criminal shoots her in the head too. She survived the shot and began to develop an unimagined intelligence. At the same time, however, there are also considerable disturbances in perception and memory.

She first begins an affair with a professor, but after his death she and her assassin go on a search for the key to absolute power. In a cave they find a control unit for all American ICBMs , which they finally start with the help of a finger, thus triggering nuclear destruction.

Publications

The film came on October 14, 2003 under the title Hanai Sachiko no Karei na Shogai ( 花 井 さ ち こ の 華麗 な 生涯 , German "Sachiko Hanais splendid life") in the Japanese cinemas. As the film became a success in Japan, the producers allowed director Mitsuru Meike to add half an hour to the film. On November 26, 2005 started a longer version under the title Hatsujō Katei Kyōshi: Sensei no Aijiru in the cinemas of Japan. This was taken as the basis for the worldwide distribution of the film. The wonderful world of Sachiko Hanai has been shown at several international film festivals, screened on television in several countries, and had a limited theatrical release in the United States on April 13, 2007.

reception

On the occasion of its US theatrical release, The New York Times wrote that the film was "a jumble of softcore political satire, hardcore narrative nonsense, lively sexism, junky images and dime-like surrealism." Although the film was originally soft porn appeared, it developed into something "more ambitious, somehow" .

In Variety one thought: "If outrageous concepts Everything would be, this latest incentive would be [...] awesome in the often eccentric history of Japanese 'Pink film'. But the crazy ideas in Takao Nakano's script only entertain jerkily under Mitsuru Meike's annoying direction. "
