The Green Hornet is an American crime series that was produced between 1966 and 1967 and with which Bruce Lee started his film career.

Britt Reid leads a secret double life . In public he stands as the urbane playboy and newspaper publisher of The Daily Sentinel , while in his secret identity as the Green Hornet , disguised with a mask and supported by his chauffeur and assistant Kato, he fights crime. Part of his disguise is that the police think he is a criminal; this makes it easy for him to infiltrate criminal gangs . Only Kato and District Attorney Scanlon know Reid's dual identity. In addition to Kato's martial arts , Reid can also count on his heavily armed Black Beauty car .

Bruce Lee moved to Los Angeles to produce the series and attended acting classes beforehand. The series achieved low ratings despite plot overlaps with the successful series Batman and well-known guest stars such as Jeffrey Hunter , Harold Gould and John Carradine and was discontinued after 26 episodes broadcast. Nevertheless, the role of "Kato" marked the beginning of his film career.
Movie
In 2009, Michel Gondry took on the direction of a new film adaptation. The film, in which Seth Rogen and Christoph Waltz , among others, played, was largely shot in 2009 and was released in Germany on January 13, 2011 in both a 2D and a 3D version.
