Wende Wagner (also Wendy Wagner ; born December 6, 1941 in New London , Connecticut , † February 26, 1997 in Santa Monica , California ) was an American actress who became famous for her roles in The Green Hornet and Rio Conches .

Life

Wende Wagner had French, German and Indian ancestors, which gave her an exotic look that was useful for her acting career. Her parents were John H. Wagner and Rudy Arnold Wagner. They were both active in the field of sports, their father as a trainer for Olympic swimmers and divers, their mother as a skier. Wagner attended Coronado High School in San Diego , California. After graduating from school, she traveled to many countries and worked as a model in Paris . As a swimmer and diver, she first came into contact with the film business in the late 1950s. She made her television debut in 1959/60 in the western series Wagon Train . She was interested in surfing and traveling around the world. She tried to combine both with her work. For example, she worked as a female stunt double in underwater scenes. She starred in the series Sea Hunt by Lloyd Bridges and in the TV series The Aquanauts . In September Storm she took part in stunt scenes and played other small roles in television series. On a film set, she met the stunt diver Courtney Brown, whom she married.

After a break - due to the birth of her daughter and the move to the Bahamas - she took on stunt assignments in television series again.

In 1963, Wagner divorced Brown and moved back to the United States. There she played smaller roles in movies and television productions from 1964 and played the role of Lenore "Casey" Case in the series The Green Hornet between 1966 and 1967. Through her friendship with Sharon Tate , she got a role in Rosemary's Baby . Wagner was married to James Mitchum from 1967 to 1978 and has a son with him. After 1973 she gave up her career and died of cancer in 1997.
