The Insurgents is an American thriller from 2006 . Scott Dacko directed and wrote the script.
action
Four people build a bomb to destroy a target in the United States. A flashback shows how the provincial James rescues the harassed Hana in a bar, after which he starts a relationship with her. A fade-in at the beginning of the flashback informs you that this happened six months earlier - the film contains a total of ten flashbacks, which are preceded by fade-ins with the time stamp.
Two years earlier, Hana dated the Iraq war veteran and ex- marine Marcus, who turned out to be impotent. Before that, she had a relationship with the writer Robert, who gave her radical ideas.
Reviews
Lisa Nesselson wrote in Variety magazine on July 30, 2007 that the film shows the inner workings of a terrorist cell and makes the most of its premises and budget. Anyone wondering how the people who grew up in the United States could devote themselves to terrorism would get food for thought. While watching, you wonder who recruited whom.
Awards
Scott Dacko won the German Independence Award of the Oldenburg International Film Festival in 2006 . In 2007 he received an award from the Palm Beach International Film Festival and an award from the Long Island International Film Expo for the script .
