The Law was a short-lived British rock band formed in 1991 around singer Paul Rodgers (ex- Free , Bad Company , The Firm ) and drummer Kenney Jones (ex- Small Faces , Faces , The Who ). They were accompanied by studio musicians John Staehely (guitar) and bassist Pino Palladino (bass). The band signed changing guest musicians, including David Gilmour , Bryan Adams and Chris Rea .

In 1991 her album "The Law" was released, which contained the hit "Laying Down The Law", but was commercially disappointing. The track "Miss You in a Heartbeat" was later a hit for Def Leppard .

The recordings for a second album were no longer published, but are circulating as a bootleg under the name "The Law II".
