The Pack (Czech original title Smečka for the “pack” or the “pack”) is a coming-of-age film by Tomáš Polenský , which is expected to premiere in September 2020 at the Children's and Youth Film Festival in Zlín and in which it is about bullying within an ice hockey team.

Young actor Tomáš Dalecký plays David, Vlastina Svátková and Jirí Vyorálek his mother and father. Václav Vašák plays David's strict trainer, Patrik Děrgel his assistant. The film also features current players from the HC Zlín ice hockey team and the former Czech ice hockey player Martin Hosták .

Filming and publishing

The shooting took place at the location, the Czech industrial city of Zlín , including in the HC Zlín stadium there, which served as the backdrop for the red and black Vlků stadium in the film. Only two days of shooting took place in Prague . Further recordings were made in Jižní Svahy and Vizovice . While the film is set in winter, filming took place in summer 2019.

A first screening of the film is also planned for September 5, 2020 in Zlín at the children's and youth film festival there. It is slated to hit Czech cinemas on October 8, 2020.
