The Rising Rocket is an indie - band from Stuttgart .

The 4-piece band was founded in 2004 under the name Pocket Rocket , but renamed itself to The Rising Rocket in 2008 due to a legal dispute . Since January 2012 the band has only appeared as a trio.

history

2004: The band is founded as Pocket Rocket by Benni, Simon, Manu and Philip .

2006: The band (still under the name Pocket Rocket) produces their debut CD “Where Can We Go?”. The quartet is a finalist at the world's largest newcomer festival Emergenza . In the fall, a US television team accompanies the boys for the report Project My World , which was broadcast several times to an audience of millions.

2007: A German TV station shoots two UfA pilot programs. The band plays the production's theme song. Their debut CD sells over 1,000 copies.

2008: After a legal dispute with a band from Austria of the same name, Pocket Rocket becomes THE RISING ROCKET.

2009: The Rising Rocket emerges as a finalist on the 2009 Coca Cola Soundwave Discovery Tour . They support Razorlight, Silbermond and have their first appearances at Rock am Ring , Hurricane , Highfield , Melt !, Bochum Total and the Brandenburg Gate in front of over 1 million people. In the summer the 4 boys start a short trip to Sweden and get to know Ronald Bood , producer of Mando Diao , Shout Out Louds and Sugerplum Fairy .

2010: Ronald Bood supports the band and invites them to recordings in Stockholm. In autumn the guys will start a promotional tour across Germany.

2011: Andreas Ehret (Andy) is the band's new bass player. The Rising Rocket goes on a festival tour with the Coke Sound Up truck. In September the band released their debut album "Colors of Stockholm" on Headspin-Rec.

2012: Bassist Andy Ehret leaves the band. From now on the band only appears as a trio.

style

The music style of The Rising Rocket is influenced by bands like The Living End , Franz Ferdinand and Mando Diao . In addition, the boys name Itchy Poopzkid , The Jerks and other artists from the independent scene as their role models.

Her style ranges from singable melodies to danceable rock'n'roll with a Swedish character.
