Shout Out Louds is a Swedish indie rock band from Stockholm .

Band history

Shout out louds 2007
The band at the ZMF 2018 in Freiburg

The band had its origins in Stockholm with three childhood friends Adam Olenius, Ted Malmros and Carl von Arbin. In 2001 they laid the foundation stone for the Shout Out Louds and brought in Eric Edman and Bebban Stenborg, a drummer and a keyboardist. They had to give up the originally chosen name Luca Brasi , as a band with this name already existed. She immediately wrote three songs and produced a demo tape that gives them a record deal with the Independent - record label Bud Fox Recordings brought. The band's first release was the EP 100 ° at the beginning of 2003 , which immediately hit the Swedish charts. This was followed by a tour of Sweden with performances in neighboring countries and two further single releases in preparation for the release of the debut album Howl Howl Gaff Gaff in October that same year. It reached number 35 on the album charts.

In the following time the band released more songs and went on tour. An invitation took them to Los Angeles and there they were discovered and signed by Capitol Records . In 2005 EMI and Capitol released a new version of Howl Howl Gaff Gaff , which was intended for the international market and has a different tracking list. The Shout Out Louds were promoted in the USA with appearances with David Letterman and Jay Leno as well as a US tour with the Dears . But first of all, the international success was limited to two smaller chart successes in the British charts with the album songs The Comeback and Please, Please, Please . The band played at many festivals in Germany and Europe, including the Populario , Southside , Hurricane and Roskilde Festival .

After that, the Swedes first moved back to Europe and produced their second album Our Ill Wills together with Björn Ytlling from Peter Bjorn and John as producer. It was first released in 2007 in their home country and made it into the top 10. Then it was also released in the USA and was able to place in the top 30 of the independent charts. The tracks Tonight I Have to Leave It and Impossible , which made it into the top 5 of the US dance charts, were particularly successful .

After further touring, the band took a break in 2008 before they started working on their next album the following year. This time the LP was recorded with producer Phil Ek in the USA. Published work in February in the US at indie label Merge Records , and in Germany at Vertigo . They were able to repeat the success of their predecessor and were even at number 200 on the Billboard 200 for a week . They also managed to establish themselves in German-speaking countries for the first time and reached position 30 in the German album charts and had a single hit with Fall Hard . In addition, the Shout Out Louds 2010 played their most successful tour to date.

Despite the growing success, the Swedes strived for a return. After a private and musical break with other projects, they moved back to Stockholm for their next album and took on a Swedish producer, Johannes Berglund. They took a year and a half for work before album number four, entitled Optica, was released in late February 2013.

After a creative break of several years, which was used for starting families and solo projects, the band recorded their new album Ease My Mind from October 2016 to March 2017 , which was officially released in September 2017. Two singles, Oh Oh in April and the album's opening track Jumbo Jet , were pre-sent to the album in July 2017.
