The Termite Club was an initiative and is a venue for jazz and improvisation music in Leeds .

history

The Termite Club was founded in 1983 in Leeds u. a. Founded by Alan Wilkinson , Paul Hession , Paul Buckton and John McMillan , and made a huge impact on the experimental music scene in the city through 2010, The Wire wrote . The initiative acted as a promoter of experimental concerts; Initially, the Adelphi was often used as the venue.

As part of the Termite Club , concert recordings have been made since 1987. a. by Tony Oxley , Fred Frith , Paul Hession, Frode Gjerstad , Lol Coxhill and Simon H. Fell . After the end of the initiative in 2010, the Termite Club was reactivated in 2015 at a new location (161 Woodhouse Lane).
