The Tower ( Arabic : البرج), or Dubai Creek Tower is an observation tower under construction in Dubai . The expected height of the tower is said to be between 928 and 1400 meters. At the time of expected completion for Expo 2020 in Dubai, it would be the tallest structure in the world . The design comes from the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava .
concept
The engineering firm working on the project has announced that Dubai's new tallest tower will emit a “beacon” from its top at night. Once completed, the “Dubai Creek Harbor Tower Project” will be known as “The Tower”, if the client wishes. At the top there is an oval bud that includes ten viewing platforms ; including the room, which, according to Aurecon , an Australian engineering, planning, project management and consulting company that is to work with the architect Santiago Calatrava , offers a 360-degree view of the city .
According to Calatrava, his plans were inspired by oriental and Islamic architecture. B. of the minarets of the mosques or the hanging gardens of Semiramis in Babylon . In October 2016, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum laid the foundation stone for the skyscraper. On January 15, 2017, a revised model of the original design was presented in the complex's shopping center. The height of the tower has been reduced.
In February 2017, a rendering of the tower appeared, depicting it as a building supported by cables. The name of the tower is intended to be Lagoon Tower .
In May 2018, the concreting work for the 72 meter deep pile foundation of the Dubai Creek Tower was completed.
