style

Musically, the band picks up on progressive rock from the 1970s to the present day. The two tracks on her debut album each exceed the 20-minute mark. Particularly characteristic of the band's sound are the avant-garde, varied vocals as well as rapid changes in style, tempo and meter.

reception

The band's sound is often compared to The Mars Volta , Frank Zappa , Nektar , Ruins , Van der Graaf Generator , Sleepytime Gorilla Museum or Captain Beefheart . The music magazine eclipsed read:

“[...] two 25-minute compositions that, mostly at breathtaking speed, mess up pretty much everything that has been extravagant prog in the last forty years: tricky, weird guitars à la Cpt. Beefheart , hypnotically repeating 5 and 7 rhythms with throbbing basses that make you think of magma , and one or the other jazzy twisted Canterbury riff. It had all been there before. But firstly not in this concentrated, highly concentrated form and secondly not with this provocative darkwave attitude, which is mainly due to the delirium singing, with which you believe to see Pere Ubus David Thomas in front of you with closed eyes . "

Furthermore, the music magazine Progressive Newsletter rated the singing:

"At times the man succeeds in sounding like a mixture of David Byrne , Jeffrey Lee Pierce , Devo blessed memory, from a herd of goats, a dying Damo Suzuki and a chilled muezzin : all in one singing passage, mind you."

While the music magazine Rock It! commented on the CD:

“Opinions will split on this edgy chunk of music. [...] Anyone who can hear Frank Zappa's difficult records well should risk an ear. "
