occupation

The Wave is a science fiction film by Gille Klabin , which celebrated its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in September 2019 .

action

Corporate attorney Frank, obsessed with his image, decides to bring some movement into his life through a wild night. He takes a mysterious drug that takes him on an exciting time travel adventure and makes him rethink his position on an insurance claim.

production

Directed by Gille Klabin . The screenplay was written by Carl W. Lucas , who can also be seen in the film in the role of Big Jesus. Justin Long plays the lawyer Frank, Donald Faison took on the role of Jeff.

The music for the film was composed by Eldad Guetta . The soundtrack album with a total of 16 pieces of music was released as a download in early April 2020.

The first screening of the film took place on September 21, 2019 at the Fantastic Fest . A first trailer was presented shortly beforehand. Epic Pictures secured the worldwide rights to the film.

reception

Screenanarchy.com's Dave Canfield thinks viewers will have a lot of fun watching Frank try to cope with the constant changes in reality so that the less surprising ending to the story will work well. Justin Long is, as was to be expected, perfect in the role of the budding " Golden Boy " and is supported by a capable cast, such as Donald Faison and Sheila Vand . The latter is just as impressive as in A Girl Who Walks Home Alone At Night , but the show is a little stolen from them by Tommy Flanagan and Ronnie Gene Blevins . Flanagan exudes a strong mystical presence as the drug supplier who sends Frank on his journey, and Blevins is just hilarious.
