Thees Carstens

Thees Carstens (* 1967 in Hamburg ) is a German comic artist and author .

Life

Thees Carstens studied at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts and at the University of Hamburg . He obtained a diploma in visual communication / animated film in 2001. The state examination as a grammar school teacher for the subjects of fine arts and philosophy was followed by legal clerkship and lessons at grammar school from 2006 to 2008. Between 1997 and 2006 and since 2008 he has been working as a freelance author and illustrator for book, newspaper and magazine publishers. He became known for his cartoons and comics for children and adults. His first work, Hermanns Hauskreis , was published in 1999. He produced the comic "Nana and Paul" for over 10 years, which was published in the daily newspaper Stuttgarter Nachrichten until April 2016 .

Carstens is married, has a son and a daughter and lives in Hamburg.
