Theodor Boehm

Theodor Andreas Boehm (born November 8, 1892 in Antonienhütte ; † January 29, 1969 ) was a German pharmaceutical chemist and pharmacist . He taught at the Friedrich Wilhelms University and later at the University of Leipzig .

Life

Theodor Andreas Boehm completed his apprenticeship as a pharmacist. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War. In 1919 he moved to the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin to study pharmacy and chemistry. This, he graduated in 1923 with the promotion for Doctor Phil. from.

After completing his doctorate, Boehm went to the Department of Pharmacy at the university as an assistant, where he worked until 1942. The university qualified him for pharmaceutical chemistry in 1931, after which he taught as a private lecturer . In 1938 he was promoted to unscheduled associate professor .

In 1942 Boehm left Berlin University. The University of Leipzig hired him as a scheduled associate professor for pharmaceutical chemistry in the department for mathematics / natural science at the philosophical faculty . He held this office until 1945. He received a chair for this branch at the university in 1950. At the same time he became director of the Institute for Pharmacy.

Boehm remained in the professorship until 1959. Ten years later he died at the age of 76. He had been a member of the NSDAP since 1937 . In the period from 1933 to 1942 he also served as a squad leader in the NSKK and was also a member of the Nazi lecturers' association from 1937 to 1945.
