Theodor Eustach (Palatinate-Sulzbach)
Theodor Eustach von Pfalz-Sulzbach (born February 14, 1659 in Sulzbach ; † July 11, 1732 in Dinkelsbühl ) was Count Palatine and Duke of Sulzbach .
Life
Theodor Eustach was a son of the Duke and Count Palatine Christian August von Sulzbach (1622–1708) from his marriage to Amalie (1615–1669), daughter of Count Johann VII of Nassau-Siegen .
Theodore Eustace employed at his residence the Palatine architect Paul Decker , a student Schlüters . In 1714 the Duke succeeded in redeeming the Neuburg part of the Parkstein-Weiden community office for 200,000 guilders. On January 13, 1727, Theodor Eustach renounced his claims to Jülich and Berg in favor of his first-born son Joseph Karl .
Due to the lack of male descendants, Theodor Eustach was already considered the legitimate heir of the Neuburg house and thus the electoral dignity during his lifetime, what with the marriage of Theodor Eustach's eldest son and the only daughter of Elector Karl III. Philip was underlined again.
Theodor Eustach died in Dinkelsbühl, where he had to retire because an imperial investigation into ammunition deliveries from Sulzbach iron hammers was running against him. He was followed by his second son Johann Christian Joseph , who had become the inheritance of his deceased older brother.
