Theodor Geringhoff

Theodor Geringhoff (born May 5, 1896 in Münster ; † December 29, 1959 there ) was a German social democratic politician.

Geringhoff was a master carpenter and worked as a freelancer from 1925 to 1933. He specialized in the construction of sports facilities. In 1932 he was involved in the construction of the world championship track in Rome . In 1934 and 1935 he was involved in the completion of the winter cycle track in Copenhagen .

Politically, Geringhoff had been a member of the SPD since 1919 . As a city councilor for his party, he sat on the city council of Münster from 1927 to 1933. In August 1944 he was arrested in the course of the grating action after the failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler . Until 1945 he was in the Sachsenhausen and Hamburg-Neuengamme concentration camps .

After the war, Geringhoff was appointed a member of the Provincial Parliament of Westphalia in 1946 . In the same year he was also a member of the appointed state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . In 1953 to 1959 he was a member of the Regional Assembly of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe .
