Theodor Keidel

Theodor Keidel (born May 4, 1902 in Munich ; † October 29, 1988 ibid) was a German lawyer and specialist author .

Life

The son of the Munich Higher Regional Court Councilor Friedrich (Fritz) Keidel attended Munich's Maximiliansgymnasium from 1912 to 1921 (Abitur, among others with Bernhard Benning and Wolfgang Weber ) . He completed a law degree at the Universities of Leipzig and Munich and passed the first state examination in 1925 and the second state examination in 1928 . He then joined the Bavarian judicial service and in 1937 was appointed first public prosecutor at the Munich II regional court and before 1945 as senior public prosecutor for political criminal matters at the Munich Higher Regional Court. After the end of the war because of his political views during the Nazi era, he was finally reinstated as a Supreme Court Judge in Munich. In 1967 he retired. The Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich made him an honorary doctorate in 1972 .

Keidel was the editor of the BGB short commentary by Otto Palandt (1st edition 1933) in the area of inheritance and inheritance law and wrote comments on legal texts, including the registration law and the notarization law . He was co-editor of a standard work on "Matters of Voluntary Jurisdiction" , which appeared in many editions.

Keidel had been friends with Walter Nigg in Leipzig since 1924 ; and was the godfather of Sonja, the Swiss pastor's daughter. Son Helmut Keidel (born December 24, 1937) also embarked on a legal career ( notary ; President of the Federal Chamber of Notaries ). He spent some time during the war in the Dällikon rectory near Nigg .
