Theodor Seykora

Theodor Seykora (born August 19, 1921 in St. Johann in Tirol ; † March 31, 2015 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian manager and local politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Theodor Seykora studied law at the University of Innsbruck - interrupted by service at the front and being a prisoner of war . In 1948 he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD.

In 1956 he became head of the personnel department of the Tyrolean tube and metal works, later a member of the board and chairman of the board. Among other things, he was deputy. Chairman of the Board of Directors of GE Jenbacher , a subsidiary of General Electric . He was the head of the Tyrolean Savings Banks Association.

He was a councilor in Innsbruck (1950–1962) and city ​​councilor of Innsbruck (1962–1983) as well as a member of the Innsbruck city senate. He was heavily involved in the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck.

Among other things, he was committed to the Alpine Club in Germany, Austria and South Tyrol.

Theodor Seykora was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . In 1968 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and invested in the order on November 9, 1968 in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna by the Archbishop of Salzburg, Andreas Rohracher , Grand Prior of the Austrian Lieutenancy . Most recently he was an officer in the Papal Lay Order.
