Theodor Spieker

Theodor Spieker (born August 8, 1823 in Päwesin , † April 9, 1913 in Potsdam ) was a German mathematics teacher.

Life

Spieker studied in Berlin , Bonn and Greifswald . During his studies in 1845 he became a member of the Alemannia Bonn fraternity . After his studies he taught at the Schwerin Realschule , then at the Karlsgymnasium in Bamberg and from 1854 at the Potsdam Realschule . In 1891 he was retired.
Spieker wrote a widely used school textbook on plane geometry. The Spieker point in the triangular geometry is named after him.
