Theodor Wildeman

Theodor Wildeman (born October 17, 1885 in Bonn ; † June 25, 1962 there ) was a German architect , Prussian building official and monument conservator .

Life

Wildeman studied architecture between 1906 and 1910 at the Technical University of Darmstadt , among others with Heinrich Walbe . After completing his studies, Wildeman initially stayed as an assistant to Walbe at the university until he was appointed to the preservation of monuments in the Rhine Province in 1914 by Edmund Renard, Bonn's provincial conservator . During the First World War he did military service . After the war, he continued his work in the preservation of monuments and was promoted to state master builder and deputy provincial curator in 1921. In 1929, he was promoted to the provincial building council. During the last years of the Second World War , when the provincial curator Franz Graf Wolff-Metternich was doing military service in France, Wildeman organized the protection of the Rhenish cultural monuments and the safe storage of movable cultural assets. In 1950 he was appointed to the state building council. In 1951, Wildeman was retired.
