At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 , he took part in the indoor competition. He was able to move into the second round in mixed at the side of his future wife Mabel Parton , in doubles and singles he lost his opening games.

In 1914 he played for the British team in the Davis Cup , but lost the doubles at the side of James Cecil Parke against Norman Brookes and Anthony Wilding .
