Theodore St. John
Theodore St. John (birth name: Theodore S. Cox ; born September 27, 1906 in New York City , New York , † January 9, 1956 in Northampton , Massachusetts ) was an American screenwriter who won an Oscar at the 1953 Academy Awards won the best original story.
Life
Theodore St. John did his military service as a first lieutenant in the US Army during World War II . Between 1942 and 1953 he was co-author of the scripts and templates for only three films .
At the Academy Awards in 1953, he won the Oscar for best original story along with Fredric M. Frank and Frank Cavett for The Greatest Show in the World (1952) by Cecil B. DeMille with Betty Hutton , Cornel Wilde and Charlton Heston in the leading roles .
After his suicide death , he was buried in Long Island National Cemetery .
