Theophil Richter (baptized January 25, 1636 in Abertham ; † around 1699 in Frühbuß ) was a Bohemian mountain master , imperial tax collector , court clerk, mountain clerk and schoolmaster .

Life

Theophil Richter was born in Abertham as the son of the local schoolmaster and pastor Theophil Richter (* 1590 in St. Joachimsthal ) and his wife Anna († 1665 in Abertham). His grandfather was the pastor of Abertham and archdeacon of St. Joachimsthal Gregor Richter . His uncle the schoolmaster of Platten and pastor of Rauschau Elias Richter . His younger brother Martin Richter (* 1642 in Abertham; † 1715 ibid) held the schoolmaster's office in Abertham for 18 years until his death.

Richter converted to Catholicism and around 1660 took the position of school clerk in early penance. He was the first attested Catholic schoolmaster on site, who was initially entrusted with pastoral tasks and the management of the church records, until early penance Daniel Joseph Mayer had his own pastor in 1678 . In 1666 Richter married the daughter of the local mountain master Elias Baumgärtel for the second time . From 1666 he is also referred to in the registers as an imperial mountain, court and counter scribe as well as weighing master. In addition, from 1667 he took over the role of imperial customs collector. Around 1687 he was finally appointed Bergmeister von Frühbuss and was thus the official successor of Bergmeister Daniel Pausch, who died in 1686 . Richter died around 1699.

His brother-in-law was the judge of early penance Johann Heinrich Funck . One of his sons was Anton Richter, who also served as a judge for 30 years in early penance.
