Thierno Rafael Agne (born April 18, 1989 in Hamburg ) is a German basketball player . He was a junior national player and last played for SC Rist Wedel .

Player career

Agne grew up in the Hamburg district of Altona . In his youth he played basketball at SC Ottensen, SC Rist Wedel and Bramfelder SV. In the 2005/06 season he was used by the Baskets Albag Hamburg in the first regional league.

In 2006 Agne left his home for the Urspring School in Schelklingen , where he played in youth and in the 2nd basketball league and from the 2007/08 season in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .

He took up studies at Northwood University (later Keizer University) in the US state of Florida in 2009 and was a top performer of the college's basketball team in NAIA Division 2. Agne played there under coach Rollie Massimino , who joined the Villanova University team in 1985 sensationally led to the championship title in NCAA Division 1. In 2011 Agne came with Northwood in the finals of the NAIA Division 2 in the semifinals, in 2012 they reached the final, but missed winning the championship due to a loss to the team of the Oregon Institute of Technology. In a total of 133 games he played for Northwood between 2009 and 2013, he recorded averages of 9.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 basket assists. He hit 246 three-point throws with a success rate of 42.6 percent.

Agne received a Masters degree in International Economics from Northwood University and returned to Germany in 2013. He was signed by the Gießen 46ers and played for the Mittelhessen in the 2013/14 season. In 37 games of the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , Agne averaged 7.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per use and advanced to the semi-finals of the ProA finals with Giessen. In September 2014, Agne declared his professional basketball career over.

In the 2015/16 season he played temporarily for Bramfelder SV in the 2nd regional league, for the 2016/17 season he moved to SC Rist Wedel in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB , where he stayed for a year.

National team

Agne took part with the German U16 national team in the B-EM 2005 and also played in the U20 EM 2009 for Germany.
