The municipality of Thira ( Greek Δημοτική Ενότητα Θήρας Dimotiki Enotita Thiras ) has been one of two municipalities of the municipality of Thira on the Greek island of Santorini since 2011 . It emerged from the former municipality and is divided into five city districts and seven local communities.

The municipality of Thira emerged from the municipality of the same name, which has existed since 1997 , as part of the 2010 administrative reform . This was formed by the amalgamation of twelve rural communities after the community reform .
