Thomas-Jörg Leuchert

Thomas-Jörg Leuchert (born July 23, 1954 in Frankenberg / Sa. , † March 5, 2013 in Rostock ) was a German politician ( Social Democratic Party of Germany ). From 1994 to 2011 he was District Administrator of the Bad Doberan district and then until 2013 District Administrator of the Rostock district .

Life

Leuchert grew up in Heiligendamm . In 1973 he passed the Abitur in Bad Doberan . In 1975 he began studying at the University of Rostock , graduating with a degree in veterinary medicine and animal production ( FH ). From 1978 he worked as a senior engineer in a state veterinary practice.

In 1983 he became workshop manager in an office for architecture-related art. In 1989 he became a district sports teacher at the DTSB .

In 1989 Leuchert was one of the founding members of the Social Democratic Party in the GDR in Bad Doberan. After the reunification , the round table elected him on April 2, 1990 as acting chairman of the Bad Doberan district council . From June 1990 he became the district's deputy district administrator. After the district reform in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 1994, when the districts of Bad Doberan and Rostock-Land were merged, he was elected by the district council to be the district administrator of the Bad Doberan district. In 2001 and 2008 he was confirmed in office by direct election. At the end of September 2011 he was elected district administrator of the Rostock district that was newly formed in the course of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania district reform in 2011 .

In mid-February 2013 Leuchert suffered a heart attack, of which he died on March 5, 2013.
