Thomas Ackermann (politician)

Thomas Ackermann (born December 17, 1967 in Kassel ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). Since October 23, 2013 he has been a member of the Hessian state parliament for three months .

After graduating from the Goetheschule in Kassel, Ackermann studied prehistory in Marburg , and through a distance learning course in Würzburg , he became a technical business economist. This was followed by training as a draftsman and construction technician. He is currently working as a technical employee in the building department of the municipality of Lohfelden , but this employment relationship has been suspended for the time as a member of the state parliament.

Ackermann held a number of important functions with the Greens, for example as spokesman for the board of directors of the Greens in the Kassel district from 2000 to 2011. Since 2001, he has been the parliamentary group chairman in the local council of his home town of Fuldatal , and has also been a member of the Kassel district council. He is also deputy chairman and parliamentary group chairman in the regional assembly of North Hesse. On October 23, 2013 he moved into the state parliament for Kordula Schulz-Asche who had been drafted into the Bundestag . The electoral period lasts until January 2014. Since he was not nominated again for the 2013 state election , he left the state parliament at the end of the legislative period.

Ackermann is married and has two children. He is an honorary judge at the Kassel Administrative Court and first chairman of the HC Kassel.
