Thomas Böhm (* 1954 in Hamburg ) is a freelance author and columnist from Berlin .

Life

Thomas Böhm was born and raised in Hamburg.

Böhm began his journalistic career at the newly founded taz , where he worked first as a volunteer and then since 1984 as a music editor. Then he worked as a freelancer for the »Presstige« journalists' office until 1990. During this time he wrote as a freelance writer for, among others , Die Zeit , Tagesspiegel , Stern , Vogue , tip and Zitty . He also worked as a musician and cartoonist.

From 1992 he was with the BZ for 13 years , where he wrote a daily dog ​​column (" Shiva, my best friend ").

At the end of 2010 he co-founded the right-wing populist small party Die Freiheit , for which he volunteered as a press spokesman. In 2011 and 2012 he published the articles from his dog column at the BZ in two books

From 2012 to the beginning of 2018, Böhm was editor-in-chief of the “ Journalistenwatch ” blog he founded . His wife, Marilla Slominski, took over the editor-in-chief from him. In 2015 he published the book Des Wahnsinns fette Menschen , a satirical view of socio-political conditions. Böhm has also been the federal manager of the right-wing populist association of the citizens' movement Pax Europa since May 2016 .
