Thomas Bierling

Thomas Bierling (born February 13, 1968 in Karlsruhe ) is a German jazz pianist , composer and music producer .

Life

Bierling received classical piano lessons from the age of 10 and occupied himself with jazz, pop and all forms of popular music from the age of 14. At the age of 16 he founded his own jazz formations. He studied physics at the University of Karlsruhe in order to work as a management consultant afterwards. At the same time, he expanded his activities as a band leader , composer and arranger . In 1994 Hohner Verlag published his book Das Tanzmusikbuch , and in 2011 his book Sinnes-Wandel . He has made several CD releases. Bierling is a member of the Karlsruhe Freemason Lodge Leopold zur Loyalty .

Compositions

In 2005, Thomas Bierling, together with Eva Weis and Peter Lehel, set the first 19 articles of the Basic Law to music as part of the application of the city of Karlsruhe as European Capital of Culture 2010 . The work is titled Recht harmonisch and was released on CD by the Antes Edition label. As the world's first setting of a legal text, the work has achieved considerable media coverage.
