Status: end of career

Thomas Bröker (born January 22, 1985 in Meppen ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

At the age of six, Bröker began playing football in the Hemsen district of Meppen. He played for SV Hemsen until 1995 when he moved to SV Union Meppen . As a 13-year-old he joined the most successful local club; At SV Meppen, the center forward went through the youth teams and then became a regular player in the 1st team, which played in the Oberliga Nord .

Before the start of the 2004/05 season, he moved to 1. FC Cologne , for whom he completed 15 games for the professional team in the 2nd Bundesliga and 25 games for the amateur team in the Regionalliga Nord . For the 2005/06 season, Bröker was loaned to the second division team Dynamo Dresden . At the end of August 2006, despite a contract that was valid until the end of the 2006/07 season, he moved to SC Paderborn 07 a few hours before the end of the transfer deadline .

After the 2006/07 season, Bröker seemed to come to an agreement again with Dynamo Dresden; but although the contract was already signed, Dynamo Dresden withdrew from it. SC Paderborn had insisted on a transfer fee for Broekers, which Dynamo was not prepared to pay. After both clubs had finally come to an agreement, Bröker played again for Dynamo Dresden from the 2007/08 season . With Dresden he qualified for the newly created 3rd professional league .

For the 2009/10 season he moved to the second division club Rot Weiss Ahlen , where he was under contract for one season. In the 2010/11 season he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf . In his first season he scored five goals in 25 appearances and finished seventh in the 2nd Bundesliga with Fortuna. In his second year in Düsseldorf he rose with the club as third in the Bundesliga.

In the summer of 2012, 1. FC Köln signed him again. Bröker signed a three-year contract valid until June 30, 2015. After only three short appearances in the 2014/15 season , Bröker left Cologne again at the end of the season.

On May 30, 2015, he signed a two-year contract with an option for another year with MSV Duisburg . He scored his first goal for MSV on November 7, 2015 in the second division match against SC Freiburg (1-1).

During the winter break of the 2017/18 season, Bröker terminated his contract in Duisburg and moved to third division club SC Fortuna Köln .

After relegation to the regional league with the Südstadt team, the striker ended his active career.
