Thomas Brackvogel

Thomas Brackvogel (born December 17, 1954 in Dortmund ) was managing director of Neue Pressegesellschaft mbH & Co KG in Ulm , the publishing house of Südwest Presse , from April 2, 2007 to December 31, 2019 .

Life

Thomas Backvogel studied philosophy and German at the University of Göttingen . In 1985 he was the make-up / local editor for the Goslarsche Zeitung and in 1987 a correspondent for the German Depeschendienst , first in Bonn , then in 1989 in East Berlin . In 1990 he joined the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group as head of news and politics at the Berliner Tagesspiegel .

From 1997 Brackvogel worked as the editorial director and deputy editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit . In 2001 he became Managing Editor and in 2002 Managing Director of the print edition and Zeit Online GmbH.

From September 1, 2002 Brackvogel was managing director of the Handelsblatt , from September 1, 2004 to December 31, 2006 again managing director of "Zeit" as well as Zeit Online GmbH and Zeit Beteiligungs GmbH & Co. KG. From January 1, 2007 to March 31, 2007 he was head of the university cooperation in the holding company of the Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group and on April 2, 2007 he became the managing director of the Neue Pressegesellschaft , which publishes, among others, the Südwest Presse , Märkische Oderzeitung and Lausitzer Rundschau .
