Thomas Dolak (also Tomáš Dolák ; born May 25, 1952 in Gottwaldov , Czechoslovakia ; † May 23, 2013 ) was a German - Czech ice hockey player and coach. His son Thomas junior is also an ice hockey player and coach.

life and career

Thomas Dolak played in his home country Czechoslovakia from 1968 until his escape first with HC Zlín , then with HC Dukla Jihlava and then with HC Kometa Brno . After his escape, he first played at ERC Freiburg from 1982 and then from 1984 to 1986 at ECD Iserlohn , before staying at EHC Freiburg until the end of his playing career .

After taking on coaching duties in addition to his playing career in 1993, he continued his career as a coach. With the exception of a short time in the 2001/02 season as coach of SC Bietigheim-Bissingen , he was a coach at EHC Freiburg - also in the youth field.

International

Before fleeing his homeland, he played in the Czechoslovak national team .
