Thomas Freitag (born June 17, 1950 in Alsfeld , Hessen ) is a German cabaret artist .

biography

After completing an apprenticeship as a banker and then taking acting lessons with Carlo Fuß , Freitag received his first engagement as an actor and cabaret artist at the Stuttgart Renitenztheater in 1974 . From 1975 to 1976 he was a member of the ensemble at the Stadttheater Gießen . He first appeared as a solo cabaret artist in 1976. Between 1977 and 1986 he was a member of the ensemble at the Düsseldorfer Kom (m) ödchen , where he performed together with Lore Lorentz .

Since then he has been on the road with solo programs and is known for his parodies by Willy Brandt , Herbert Wehner , Franz Josef Strauss , Helmut Kohl and Marcel Reich-Ranicki .

Friday also appears and appeared on numerous television programs (e.g. windshield wipers ) and starred in television films and series. His parody of Herbert Wehner on the occasion of his departure from the Bundestag in 1983, which was broadcast on the program windshield wiper , became a well-known classic.
