Thomas Friedrich Carstens

Thomas Friedrich Carstens (born August 27, 1666 in Lübeck ; † October 27, 1734 ibid) was a German lawyer and council secretary of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Thomas Friedrich Carstens was the third of three sons of the Lübeck Syndicus and later councilor Joachim Friedrich Carstens . From 1685 he studied law at the universities of Rostock, Königsberg and Frankfurt / Oder. After completing his studies, he was first appointed auditor in Swedish Pomerania and in 1702 the Lübeck council appointed him third council secretary. In the spring of 1715 he succeeded his brother Joachim Lothar Carstens , who had been elected councilor, and became the protonotary of the city. In the summer of the same year he was also appointed to Lübeck's travel syndicate . Carstens died in 1734 of flux river . The rector of the Katharineum in Lübeck Johann Henrich von Seelen wrote his funeral record.
