Thomas Fuchs (Librarian)

Thomas Fuchs (born November 12, 1964 in Bruchsal ) is a German librarian and historian .

Life

From 1984 he studied history and Protestant theology in Heidelberg , Munich and Regensburg . After receiving his doctorate in 1993 as Dr. phil. 1994/1995 he was a research assistant at the Max Weber Complete Edition . From 1995 to 1999 he was a research assistant at the Historical Institute of the University of Giessen . From 1999 to 2003 he was project manager at the European Enlightenment Research Center in Potsdam . After his habilitation in 2001 in the subject of modern history, he was a library trainee at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Library - Lower Saxony State Library in Hanover from 2003 to 2005 . From 2006 to 2007 he was Head of the Printing Department and Scientific Advisor for early modern cultural history at the Gotha Research Library . Since 2007 he has been head of the special collections and digitization department at the Leipzig University Library . In 2008 he became an adjunct professor at the Historical Institute of the University of Potsdam . In 2011 he became an adjunct professor at the Historical Institute of Leipzig University .
