Thomas Fuhrmann (born February 5, 1966 in Bielefeld ) is a German journalist and head of the ZDF sports department.

Life

From 1986 to 1991 Fuhrmann studied journalism at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with a DAAD scholarship for a one-year stay in the USA . He is also a graduate of the 25th teaching editorial team at the German School of Journalism in Munich . After completing his studies, he worked as a news editor at Tele 5 for a year . After working as a correspondent for n-tv in Bonn from 1993 to 1994, Fuhrmann switched to ZDF in 1995. There he worked as a reporter for the political magazine until 1998. In July 2016, ZDF announced that Thomas Fuhrmann will be the new head of the main sports department on February 1, 2017. On December 1, 2016, he ceded the management of the morning magazine to Andreas Wunn .

Thomas Fuhrmann has been married to the journalist Bettina Schausten since 2008 . The couple is childless.
