Thomas Garms (born July 3, 1958 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German journalist .

Life

Thomas Garms studied at the Goethe University in Frankfurt .

From 1980 to 1990 he was the author of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Frankfurter Rundschau , Weltwoche , Stern , Bunte , Playboy and ZDF . In 1990 he worked as Head of Reports and Interviews at Playboy. He was the editor-in-chief of Prinz in 1992 and he founded Fit for fun in 1993 . Furthermore, Men's Health was launched by him in 1995.

Garms was the 1998 Managing Editor of Men’s Health and Runner’s World and Founding Editor in Chief of Modern Living. His other editor-in-chief activities are from 2001 to 2003 at WELT am SONNTAG, from 2003 to 2009 at Hörzu and from 2005 to 2009 he was the chief editor in charge of Hörzu, Funk Uhr , TVneu, Bildwoche. In 2009 Garms became Vice President of Business Development at Axel Springer International and in 2010 went freelance as a publicist and media entrepreneur.

In 2011 he was Managing Director Corporate Media Axel Springer Schweiz AG. Since September 2012 Garms has been a member of the management board of Axel Springer Schweiz AG and managing director of business media and managing director of corporate media at Axel Springer Schweiz AG.

As editor-in-chief of Hörzu, Garms was on the jury for the award of the Golden Camera .
