Thomas Gentner (born October 4, 1988 in Nürtingen ) is a German soccer player . He is the brother of Christian Gentner .
Career
Thomas Gentner played at TSV Beuren up to the D-youth , from the D to the A-youth he belonged to the VfB Stuttgart . In the summer of 2007 he moved to the Stuttgarter Kickers and initially played for the second team in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg . In November 2008 he joined the third division squad of Kickers and made his professional debut on December 7, 2008 when he was substituted on in the 58th minute in a 3-2 home win against Werder Bremen's second team . For the 2009/10 season Gentner moved to the Regionalliga Süd for Eintracht Frankfurt's second team . There he asked for the termination of his contract after a year. He then moved to the 2010/11 season for TuS Koblenz in the third division. There he was able to establish himself as a regular player. But due to the withdrawal of TuS Koblenz from the 3rd division, Gentner canceled his contract. During the summer break, Ghent completed various training sessions with interested clubs, but no contract was signed. In August 2011 Gentner finally signed another contract with TuS Koblenz for the Regionalliga West . Gentner became the team's new captain for the 2012/13 season. The midfielder extended his contract prematurely until 2015. On January 1, 2015, Gentner ended his professional career with the regional division Tus Koblenz.
After the end of his career, Gentner moved to the sidelines and initially worked in Koblenz as an assistant coach under head coach Petrik Sander .
In the winter break of 15/16 Gentner decided to lace up his football boots again and followed the call of SGV Freiberg in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. After a long break from injury, Ghent became a regular straight away. With the club he rose at the end of the season in the association league and a year later back in the league.
