Thomas Hartmann (theologian)
Thomas Hartmann (born December 18, 1548 in Lützen , † November 23, 1609 in Eisleben ) was a German Protestant theologian and hymn poet .
He came from the Merseburg Abbey and in 1599 became archdeacon in Eisleben in the county of Mansfeld .
40 hymns from his pen, which he published himself. His song We thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, that you have risen from death ( EG 107) was the most widely used song .
