Thomas Holland (born June 11, 1908 in Southport , Great Britain , † September 30, 1999 in Manchester , England, United Kingdom ) was Bishop of Salford .

Life

Thomas Holland received on 18 June 1933 the Archbishop of Liverpool , Richard Downey , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 31, 1960, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Etenna and ordered him to Coadjutor Bishop of Portsmouth . The Bishop of Portsmouth, John Henry King , ordained him episcopally on December 21 of that year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Leeds , George Patrick Dwyer , and the Bishop of Gibraltar , John Farmer Healy .

On August 28, 1964, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Salford. On June 22, 1983, Pope John Paul II accepted Thomas Holland's request for resignation for reasons of age.

Thomas Holland attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
