Thomas Juncker

Thomas Hubertus Juncker (born November 23, 1955 in Bonn ) is a German journalist and Catholic media manager.

Life

After studying Catholic theology , Thomas Juncker initially worked as a pastoral officer in the Trier diocese and from 1983 to 1986 in the media department of the Trier diocese. He completed a journalistic training at the Institute for the Promotion of Young Journalists (ifp) in Munich and completed internships at the Saarländischer Rundfunk and Südwestfunk . From 1986 to 1991 he was the Trier studio manager at RPR , one of the first nationwide private radio broadcasters in Germany.

From 1991 to 2007 he was in charge of the newly established media department of the Trier diocese. Since 2001 he has also been the managing director of Paulinus Verlag in Trier. He was a member of the supervisory board of numerous committees, e. B. of the Borromeo Association and the Catholic News Agency as well as a member of the SWR Broadcasting Council.

On July 1, 2009 he was elected managing director of the Catholic news agency based in Bonn ; he succeeded Richard W. Orth . In 2011 he became managing director of the Catholic media company . He was managing director of the KNA subsidiary dreipunktdrei mediengesellschaft mbH and managing director of the KNA Promedia Foundation , a funding initiative for young Catholic journalists. Theo Mönch-Tegeder became his successor on September 1, 2013 .

From September 1, 2013, Juncker was in charge of the communications department and was therefore responsible for the diverse media activities of the Archdiocese of Cologne as communications director for the Archdiocese of Cologne . At the beginning of 2016 he was replaced by Ansgar Mayer .

He is married and has two children.
