Thomas Michael Fröschl

Thomas Michael Fröschl (* 1955 ) is an Austrian historian .

Life

He completed his studies in history and art history at the University of Vienna with a dissertation in 1982. He had an Erwin Schrödinger scholarship ( Baltimore - Washington, DC ) 1986–1987 and an Alexander von Humboldt scholarship ( Munich - Nuremberg - Dresden ) 1991–1992. After completing his habilitation in 1997, he became an associate professor in Vienna . He was visiting professor at the Universities of Graz and Passau , 1996–1997; Leiden University , 1998; Georgetown University , 1999; Webster University , 2003-2004; University of New Orleans , 2004-2005.

His main research interests are Atlantic history and transatlantic relations, US history and the cultural history of the Americas and the Holy Roman Empire and the German Confederation.
