Thomas Moser (singer)
Thomas Moser (born May 27, 1945 in Richmond , Virginia ) is an American- Austrian opera singer ( tenor ).
Life
Moser first studied singing in Philadelphia ( Curtis Institute of Music ) and California ( Academy of the West ) - with Martial Singher, masterclasses with Lotte Lehmann and Gérard Souzay - before moving to Europe in 1975. He debuted in Austrian Graz , first as Lyric Tenor and Mozart -Interpret. Just two years later, Moser sang for the first time at the Vienna State Opera (in the part of Iopas in the opera Les Troyens by Hector Berlioz ).
In the 1990s, Moser increasingly turned to the hero subject and appeared first as Lohengrin , then as Parsifal and finally as Tristan . In this role he celebrated an outstanding success alongside Deborah Voigt in the spring of 2003 in Vienna in the new production directed by Christian Thielemann and Günter Krämer .
Thomas Moser has been an Austrian citizen since 1992.
