Career
Ski jumping
Nordgren, who started for the Bollnäs GIF , made his international debut as a special jumper as part of the Four Hills Tournament 1983/84 . At the same time he made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup , he was unable to prevail in any of the four competitions and thus only achieved 89th place in the overall ranking. After a year break he started again at the Four Hills Tournament 1985/86 and was able to climb the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze Jump into the top 30 for the first time in Bischofshofen with 21st place. He landed in the overall standings in the best place of his career and finished 42nd with 570.2 points. At the Four Hills Tournament 1986/87 he clearly missed a repetition and only ended up in 79th place overall.
At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 in Oberstdorf, Nordgren reached 33rd place on the normal hill after jumping from 40th place on the large hill. Together with Magnus Åström , Per-Inge Tällberg and Jan Boklöv , he reached eighth place in the team competition. The following Four Hills Tournament in 1987/88 he finished after weak individual performances in 76th place overall. More than a year after completing the tour, Nordgren started at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1989 . However, he did not compete in the individual jumping. He only started with the team in the team competition and reached fifth place.
After the World Cup, Nordgren started outside the Four Hills Tournament in the World Cup for the first time . However, he still did not achieve any points. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1991 in Val di Fiemme , he started again in the individual from the normal hill. After jumping 79 and 80.5 meters, he came 27th. Shortly after the 1991 World Cup, Nordgren withdrew from the special diving camp and concentrated on Nordic combined.
Nordic combination
Nordgren made his debut as a combiner in the Nordic Combined World Cup in the 1990/91 season and achieved three World Cup points, 32nd place overall in the World Cup. On March 8, 1991 in Falun, he achieved the best individual result of his career with 13th place. In the 1993/94 season he achieved a total of 74 points in the World Cup and thus ranked 48th in the overall ranking.
