Thomas Reider

Thomas Reider (* 1980 in Lienz ) is an Austrian screenwriter and director .

Life

Thomas Reider grew up in East Tyrol and studied books and dramaturgy at the Vienna Film Academy until he graduated in 2007.

Reider directed the television film Zorn (2004) of the ORF series Die seven deadly sins (2004), for which he also wrote the screenplay. With the film he was one of the winners of the "kreuz & quer" script competition.

In 2003 he was co-director and screenwriter of the short film Prises de vues , which was shown at the 2003 Venice International Film Festival . The film was awarded the “Diagonale” youth jury prize.

In 2007 he received the main prize in the Carl Mayer screenplay competition .

He wrote the scripts for the television series Tschuschen: Power , which was broadcast in Austria in 2009 , and for the short films Demonen (2006) and Random (2005).

His first movie script Still Life was filmed in 2011 at the international film festival San Sebastian and will have its Austrian premiere at the Viennale 2011. Thomas Reider lives and works in Vienna .
